ALOT has been going on over here!

Soon after getting back from Barcelona we were delighted to be able to see my niece Coco Bella who was staying with my parents in Wales for two weeks. On Thursday evening, I set off straight from work on the train and was greeted by Bella at the station. The reunion is always the best feeling. Our weekend was spent giggling, singing, making and eating good picnics, on the beach, in the sea and at the stables. It was so hard to say goodbye on Sunday evening with tears all round, but I knew that in only four sleeps that Bella and my mum would be driving to Bath to stay for the weekend before taking the little lady back home.

On Thursday evening after a moment of big wet kisses and bear hugs (that is the job of an aunt, right?), we ate good food and walked into town for an ice cream. We had a special treat in store for Bella on the Friday; we had arranged to go to Longleat Safari Park for the day. We were so lucky to have sunshine all day and the animals were ever so obliging – we managed to see nearly every animal in that place! The monkeys on the car in the Safari drive-thru were probably everyone’s favourite, along with feeding the beautiful deer from the car window. A boat ride took us to Gorilla Island; we watched the sea lions being fed and saw some sleepy hippos too. It was such a fun day and we would recommend it to anyone, all ages, it is a must visit and is so close to where we live!

On Saturday, we spent the day in Bath, showing Coco the buskers throughout town and playing with the huge jenga and connect4 and visiting the huge playground at Victoria Park (we were a little disappointed, it wasn’t as good as it has always looked from the road! smelly sand? yuck!). That afternoon we had yet another special treat in store for Coco Bella – we had bought tickets to go and see the touring Gifford Circus and it was amazing. A small and traditional circus, with clones, acrobatics, a live band, dancing and singing, horses and dogs too! We all thoroughly enjoyed it and would also recommend this circus to anyone of all ages! We can’t believe that we have not seen or heard of them before – it was so gorgeous and cosy!

Sunday was a chilled out day after a few late nights, we spent the day watching the houseboats go through the locks, feeding ducks, picking blackberries and spent the evening eating our last meal together followed by a bit of Jungle Book!

Since we don’t see Coco Bella very much during the school term, we love to spend a little bit more money than we usually would and go somewhere that we will all enjoy for the day, it is so great to make memories together and watch Coco experience things for the first time. We are already thinking what we can do the next time the little lady comes to visit!

We love this girl so much!
